First Sergeant of the Year — Master Sergeant Michael D. Wynne is First Sergeant for the 45th Security Forces Squadron, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. He oversees the well-being of 422 civilian and military personnel and provides the commander a mission-ready enlisted force to execute the unit mission. He resolves issues that, left unchecked, would adversely impact the readiness of enlisted members. He was hand-selected by the 45th Space Wing Command Chief for the wing’s largest squadron. He provides direct input to senior leaders on Airmen issues and guided his commander through 20 UCMJ actions. Sergeant Wynne organized and led four wing quarterly events, championed a community toy drive and led a 30-member Memorial Day parade while earning 16 credit hours toward his bachelor’s degree.
