Humanity is about to have its picture taken. On July 19, NASA’s Cassini spacecraft will pass into the shadow of Saturn, allowing Cassini to peer back at our homeworld and the point of its origin, interlaced in the planet’s gossamer system of rings. Such images have been captured before.
