ARIANE 5 ROLLS OUT WITH ST-2 AND GSAT-8

Arianespace’s Ariane 5 has moved to the launch zone for its May 20 liftoff from the Spaceport in French Guiana with a dual payload of satellites for Asia and India.

This will be the third Arianespace mission of 2011, and it rolled out to the launch zone today – fitted with the GSAT-8 and ST-2 spacecraft. ST-2 will provide IP-based fixed and mobile, voice and data transmission satellite services to businesses in Asia and the Middle East; while GSAT-8 is to deliver direct-to-home TV broadcast services.
