Ariane 5 successfully lofted the JCSAT-12 and Optus D3 telecommunications satellites from the Spaceport in French Guiana tonight. Lifting off from the ELA-3 launch zone, the Ariane 5 deployed its payloads – both U.S.-built spacecraft for Asia-Pacific customers – during a 34-minute flight sequence.
