Gen. C. Robert Kehler, Air Force Space Command commander, will preside over a ceremony activating the service’s newest numbered Air Force at Lackland AFB, Texas at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The 24th AF, a NAF dedicated to cyberspace, will provide combat-ready forces trained and equipped to conduct sustained cyber operations, fully integrated with air and space operations.
Earlier this week, the Air Force named Lackland AFB as the home of its newest numbered Air Force. The announcement came on the heels of the completion of environmental assessment actions required under the National Environmental Policy Act.
