With autumn fast approaching, mixed weather conditions will be encountered. If you have not already done so, now is the time to start preparing for the hazards associated in your geographical area. Those on the coast have very different concerns as compared to the Northern-tier bases.

We are entering the last two months of hurricane season. For coastal areas, a keen knowledge of evacuation procedures and routes is essential. Pay close attention to the weather reports and plan accordingly. Ensure you have a ready-to-go kit with items such as food, water, clothes and medicine. If you need to leave and want to board up your home, be sure you have the equipment and supplies on hand to do the job safely. Give yourself plenty of time to complete the task and still get away.
