Planning and coordinating a two-week communications exercise stateside is a big job, but move it to a foreign country and a joint environment trying to get your equipment to work with equipment very different from your own – it turns into a big challenge. But, having someone from the host nation unit assigned to your unit is an invaluable asset, easing the logistics and training unit members to face the challenge of operating in a joint environment.
