Abstract: Computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations were performed on an N+2 commercial supersonic transport aircraft design that featured top-mounted propulsion. The simulations were run at take-off conditions at both 0 degrees and 8 degrees angle of attack. The results showed little separation in around the inlets with inlet performance on par with an under-the-wing configuration. The next step will be to take these results and determine the acoustic impact of the top-mounted propulsion system.
