Axial-Flow Turbine Rotor Discharge-Flow Overexpansion and Limit-Loading Condition (Part 2. Method of Analysis and Performance Evaluation of Computer Code AXOD2.)

Abstract: The supercritical flow model-treatment implemented in AXOD2 is unique of its kind, and unique to axial-flow turbines. It is a rather simple, one-dimensional modeling concept which utilizes and captures two supercritical flow characteristics: 1. The mass flow rate remains to be a constant in supercritical flow conditions. 2. The flow angle at the choked blade-row-discharge deflects against the blade angle.
