For Staff Sgt. Noah Gossard, the fitness center always seemed like a strange place. It was hard not to notice those buff people who worked out with personal trainers and pushed themselves to extreme exertion.
He figured those folks were the stereotypical gym rats, who worked out three hours a day, watched every calorie and studied food labels at the supermarket – in other words – fanatics.
Then about a month ago he realized his Air Force Fitness Assessment was coming up soon. About the same time, Sergeant Gossard, 1st Space Operations Squadron, learned that active duty Airmen were allotted 12 free sessions with a personal trainer at the fitness center.
