Abstract: Aqua MODIS is the second MODIS instrument of NASA’s Earth Observation System and has operated for over sixteen years since its launch in 2002. MODIS has sixteen thermal emissive bands (TEBs) located on two separate cold focal plane assemblies (CFPA). The TEBs are calibrated every scan using observations of an onboard blackbody (BB) and a space view port.
