Designed to honor the accomplishments and sacrifices of all American Airmen, Air Force Week kicks off tomorrow Cocoa Beach, Fla. With well over 35,000 Airmen currently deployed across the globe in support of contingency operations, the theme of this Air Force Week is Honoring Hometown Heroes. Free concerts, barbecues, and numerous other events honoring Airmen will take place Oct. 23-31.
The official kick-off of Air Force Week is at the Cocoa Beach Pier on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., complete with the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Wings of Blue Parachute demonstration, flyovers, and a free comedy show by a fellow Airmen. The Hon. Erin C. Conaton, the Undersecretary of the Air Force, will speak at the Proclamation Ceremony, as will numerous other dignitaries to include local leaders and others from across the country.
