Abstract: The MODIS instruments on the Terra and Aqua spacecraft are cross-track scanning radiometers that view the Earth scene, a space view port, and the on-board calibrators using a two-sided scan mirror. The reflectivity of the scan mirror varies with the angle of the incident light, and changes in this response versus scan angle (RVS) need to be tracked on orbit in order to maintain accurate calibration.
