As we near Christmas, there are a few things I would like to share about holiday safety.
Holiday shopping season is a peak time for crimes such as home burglaries, thefts, and even muggings.
But taking extra precautions can mitigate your chances of falling victim to any of these criminal acts. Follow these crime prevention tips while shopping and at home to ensure a more safe holiday season.
- While out shopping, stay alert to your surroundings and the people around you; a little bit of pre-planning can go a long way.
- If possible, shop with a friend or a family member. There is safety in numbers.
- Avoid carrying large amounts of cash. If possible, pay for purchases with a check, credit or a debit card.
