Biologists discover a transmissible cancer lineage in Far Eastern mussels

An international research team, including biologists from St Petersburg University, has identified a transmissible cancer lineage in the Far Eastern mussels. The disease can have an adverse effect on the populations of these molluscs, which are extensively farmed in Russia.
