The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) closed its labs when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020. However, even though the Spudnik-1 team had to put their project on hold for a while, they still pulled together to tackle important work: several team members, including students, faculty and technologists, started designing much-needed personal protective equipment (PPE).
