Building on a Mission: The Project Management Building, Home to the Center’s Directors

Following NASA’s selection of Houston as the site of a new center to manage the nation’s new and expanding human spaceflight program, on Nov. 1, 1961, the agency announced the opening of the Manned Spacecraft Center (MSC), today known as NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC).
