First Vega-C rocket stages reach Europe’s Spaceport

The first elements of ESA’s new-generation Vega-C launch vehicle departed from Avio’s Colleferro factory in Italy in November 2021 for shipment to Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. Vega-C’s second stage Zefiro-40, and third stage Zefiro-9 solid rocket motor were built by Avio, prime contractor to ESA for the development of Vega-C launcher system and ground proximity means.
