The Joint Functional Component Command for Space (JFCC Space) and 14th Air Force change of command ceremony took place here for Friday, Jan. 21, 2011.
The presiding officers for the ceremony were be Gen. Kevin Chilton, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, and Gen. William Shelton, commander of Air Force Space Command.
During the indoor ceremony, Lt. Gen. Larry James, former commander, JFCC Space and 14th Air Force, relinquished command to Lt. Gen. Susan Helms. Prior to the change of command ceremony, in a separate ceremony, General Helms was promoted from major general to lieutenant general.
