ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen poses while performing a experiment aboard the International Space Station. When Andreas shared the picture on social media, he said: “How does the brain change in space?
This is the focus of Cerebral Ageing from CNES together with Institut Pasteur and Supbiotech. Brain cells made from stem cells are grown on Earth and arrived here with the latest cargo vehicle and how they age will be studied during their stay on the International Space Station.
By observing how the cells age, scientists hope to learn more about ageing of cells that could help children with premature ageing.”
