Canadian technologies on the Moon
2024-02-15 – Three Canadian companies have received funding from the Canadian Space Agency to test their technologies in the harsh environment of the Moon.
Canadensys Aerospace Corporation will demonstrate an AI-enabled operational lunar 360-degree imaging system, including multiple cameras.
Mission Control will test two technologies: an AI algorithm to classify types of lunar geological features and a software for remote operations on deep-space missions.

Three Canadian companies will put their technologies to the test in the harsh environment of the Moon.
Canadensys Aerospace Corporation
Bolton, Ontario
Technology: AI-enabled operational lunar 360° imaging system, including multiple cameras
Capturing stunning panoramic images of the lunar surface
Mission Control
Ottawa, Ontario
Technology #1: AI algorithm for terrain classification
Analyzing the Moon’s terrain autonomously
Technology #2: Software for remote distributed mission operations
Lowering cognitive load, operator fatigue and training needs for deep-space robotic operations
NGC Aerospace Ltd.
Sherbrooke, Quebec
Technology: Lunar navigation system similar to the GPS technology used on Earth
Guiding a lunar vehicle and landing it safely at a precise location
Thanks to the financial support of the Canadian Space Agency, these companies will have six technology demonstration opportunities on or around the Moon until 2027.
