Astronaut selection is a long journey. This entire job, profession, is a long journey.
My family, my wife Heather, have always been a really important support mechanism for me through all of this.
She was by my side during selection in 2016, and of course that continues through to today.
I remember being on holidays in a hot spot down in Honduras I think, and at the time I was practicing breath holding, basically dive into the bottom of the pool with weights and just timing myself against a watch and trying to press that limit out as far as I could.
And my ti-timer and main fan and chief coach at the time was Heather.
