Motivate your students!

Tomatosphere Adventure is for students aged 10 and up. It introduces young people to extraterrestrial agriculture. Over the course of their journey, they will explore different laboratories to learn how photosynthesis works and then tackle the mission of growing tomatoes on Mars. They will also have the chance to meet Canadian Space Agency astronauts Joshua Kutryk and Jenni Gibbons, who are non-playing characters in the game.

From lab rats…

Have your students dive into an exciting world where biology and space exploration come alive! This educational journey is structured around three science lab experiments, each offering hands-on opportunities to understand the mysteries of plant biology and the wonders of space science.

Before travelling to Mars to build a greenhouse and grow tomatoes, students must complete the three experiments. In the first, they will:

  • explore plant biology
  • study plant growth
  • find out how to optimize tomato cultivation

In the second, they will build a photosynthesis machine. In the third, they will learn the role of chemical components in plant health.

… to astronauts on Mars!

Once they have completed those experiments, they will board a spacecraft and fly to Mars to accomplish their final mission: transform the red planet and make it a viable place to live.
