Joshua Kutryk: I remember always being fascinated with flying.
Like many children, I dreamed of flying when I was young.

But I didn’t know at that time that my child’s play would take me to the sky and beyond…

I started flying planes at a very young age, a teenager. Before that I flew flight simulators.

And before I had either of those, I had to make my own. So we did, my brother and I we made our own little airplane cockpit out of cardboard…

and that was our airplane which we flew all around the world in our heads, and it was something that we loved dearly.

At the age of 18, I joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a fighter pilot and then as a test pilot.

And my brother? He too became a fighter pilot.

We had the chance to fly over Canada together, just as we dreamed of doing when we were kids.
