More than 25 Airmen from the 5th Combat Communications Group graduated from an intensive three-week course designed to hone their combat skills here April 29.
Combat Readiness School course graduates learn a variety of combat skill sets to include convoy tactics, land navigation, ground base defense, communications reporting and tactical team movement. These skills are core to completing their technical communications, power production and air traffic control duties.
Completing the course is considered a rite of passage in the unit and only when Airmen graduate are they allowed to call themselves ‘Mobsters.’ This moniker indicates official recognition as a part of the “5th MOB,” the nickname of the 5th CCG.
