Technical Sergeant James W. Crutchfield is Maintenance Operations noncommissioned officer in charge for Mobile Range Flight with the Space Test Branch, Space Development and Test Directorate, Space and Missile Systems Center, Kirtland AFB, N.M. In addition to his duties as the NCOIC, Sergeant Crutchfield serves as the alternate Additional Duty first sergeant. Sergeant Crutchfield was born May 11, 1975 in Ft Benning, Ga., and entered the Air Force in October 1993. During his 17 years of military service, he has held a variety of positions throughout the RF Transmissions Systems career field. Sergeant Crutchfield’s assignments include two tours in Alaska, UAV work at Indian Springs, Nev. (now Creech AFB), and B-1 Operational testing at Dyess AFB. He also served a one year tour with the 51st Communications Squadron at Osan AFB, Korea. Sergeant Crutchfield has pursued higher education, completing his Community College of the Air Force degree and is half way through his Bachelor’s degree in Management. His military awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with bronze oak leaf cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal with two bronze oak leaf clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with valor and four bronze oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with one bronze star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Korean Defense Service Medal.
